The Pursuit of Passion (2/3)

Do any of you have more than one dream?

I've found it can be sorta stressful. :)

Depending on who you ask, I'm young. If you ask me, I'd say I've got plenty of life left to live.

Yet, I find myself overwhelmed with the amount of things I want to do and experience and learn and enjoy before I kick the bucket.

I find that I have to constantly remind myself that though it didn't feel like there were enough hours in this day - there's always tomorrow.

Being passionate about more than one thing is a blessing! Not a curse. Amidst the frustration at the day ending before I've accomplished all the things, I know that I am blessed. So many people my age don't know what they want out of life yet, and I have the opposite problem - I'm overflowing with ideas.

I'm learning (though I often forget) there's enough time in this life for me to do everything I want to do. And if you don't know what you want yet, you've got more than enough time to figure it out.

So don't worry, be happy.

Let one dream support the pursuit of another.

Spending time on the pursuit of one dream is not betraying another.

Finding yourself in a chapter of life where you feel stagnant is not a set back. It's a clean slate - the calm before the storm, the current before the wave breaks, a world of possibilities, waiting patiently for you to fill it with your pursuit of what you were made to do.

We have actually been talking about this concept in church. How do we know what we're supposed to do with our lives? As a Christian, I believe God put me here for a reason. I believe I am passionate about art because God gave me the gift of creativity. I believe his plan for my life involves this gift, and whatever his plan involves - what ever it looks like - is going to be better than I could have ever imagined.

Until I know more about his plan, I'm committed to doing the ground work so God can do his work. I'm committed to making this art as long as God gives me the inspiration for it.

In the mean time, I'm going to be trying to not get caught up in the metrics of it all. #marketingprobs

Here's some food for thought:

What are you passionate about?  What are you good at?

Have you ever thought about what God is calling you to do?

Have you pursued that? Why or why not?

If you have/are, what are some setbacks you've experienced and how have you overcome them?

Do you have more than one passion?

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

What have you been given that you can now give to the world?
